THE PROCESS
9-12 Months before: Book photographer
Congratulations on your engagement! The first step in planning an amazing event is booking a venue and setting a date. Once you have a set date, contact our studio to check on our availability. See our bookings page for more information.
6-8 Months before: Engagement Shoot
Your engagement shoot is a 1 hour portrait session at an outdoor location of your choosing in Manhattan. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know your photographer and to become more comfortable in front of the camera.
1 Month Before: Photographer Consultation
Leading up to your wedding day, you will work with our studio manager to create a wedding timeline. Once your details are finalized, we will set up a meeting with your photographer. This allows you to really communicate the details that make your wedding unique and how you would like your story captured.
Your Wedding Day: Timeline
Relax and Enjoy!
3-4 Weeks after: Your pictures are ready
You will receive a link and passcode to your online proofing site. This site will allow you to review all of your images as well as order prints.
6 weeks after: Album Draft
Our album designer will customize an album design for you. This draft is a starting point for a truly amazing album!
3-6 months after: Album approval and delivery
After you have received your draft, you will work with our album designer to perfect the design. After all necessary edits are made, your album will be printed and bound. The album will be shipped to you within 6 months of your wedding.
1 year after: Image CD
Happy Anniversary! You will receive a disc of all of your wedding and engagement images. These will be in high resolution jpeg form.
FAQ
Q. How do I choose the right photographer?
In the photographer’s section, you can find a sample of each individual’s work. Find a photographer whose style and budget best meets your needs.
Q. What is your photography style?
We use a natural shooting style. We watch your story unfold and capture all its flavors: the quiet moments, stunning details, unique personalities, and the couple, of course. We won’t run your wedding or ruin it with long set-ups or stiff poses. Above all, we never harass your guests with posed table shots. We get the classic shots you seek in a fresh way.
Q. How much coverage do I need?
That's entirely up to you. The amount you need depends on your schedule and the events of the day. We recommend a minimum of 8 hours of coverage to ensure that we capture the flow of the day in true photojournalistic style.
Q. Will I need more than one photographer?
We highly recommend a 2nd photographer if you have 120 guests or more. The nature of weddings is celebratory and often spontaneous, and truly memorable events happen simultaneously at different locations. The 2nd photographer offers not only another perspective, but more comprehensive coverage.
Q. What are your rates?
Levels of service for photographic coverage range from $6,500-$20,000.
Q. What type of albums do you offer?
We use Leather Craftsmen and Queensberry custom bookbinding. You can choose from an array of stylish fine art albums and designs. Our in-house designer will guide you through your custom design process.
Q. How do we book you?
Please use our Bookings page for our contact information. We will work with you to customize a package that meets your needs. Once you have made your decision, a retainer is required to secure the date.
Q. Do you photograph other events?
Yes we do. We do bar/bat mitzvahs, rehearsal dinners, engagement photos, children’s portraiture and any other large event or party, personal or for business. Please contact the studio for rates.
Q. Will we meet with you before the wedding?
Absolutely. Please call our office and schedule an appointment. If you are not able to come to New York, we are available via conference call and will arrange all the details for you.
